Giving back to our community.
A.R.D. Consultancy, Independent Financial Advisers in Falkirk, will continue their partnership with Larbert High School, supporting both the School of Hospitality and the School of Dance. This collaboration, which began in 2019, has been instrumental in providing valuable opportunities and experiences for students.
The partnership with Larbert High School of Hospitality has been particularly significant, especially during the difficult time that the hospitality industry had during its recovery from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Andrew Dawkins, Director of A.R.D. Consultancy, emphasized the importance of this initiative:"
COVID had a horrendous effect on the hospitality industry as a whole and we really did not want any of the negativity to spill into the student’s pursuit in career opportunities within the sector. The opportunities associated with the programme remain unchanged, if anything, there is an even greater importance to expose our younger generation of students to a wide range of jobs and possible career paths within hospitality. We feel privileged to be part of such a successful programme and even more so given it resonates with our ethos of giving back to the local community."
Brian Townsend, Principal Teacher of Health and Wellbeing at Larbert High, also expressed his enthusiasm for the ongoing partnership:"
The School of Hospitality has been running at Larbert High since 2019 with support from A.R.D. Consultancy, having industry partners investing time and resources into enhancing and supporting pupil experience acts as a catalyst to inspire pupils. Fantastic partnerships like this help us to expose pupils to a wide range of industry links and potential employment opportunities beyond school. We are excited to continue to work with A.R.D. and looking forward to developing this partnership further. We have many exciting plans and ventures organized which will benefit our young people and the local community."
One of the highlights of the partnership was the inaugural A.R.D. Consultancy client event hosted by the students of the School of Hospitality. This event showcased the students' culinary and hosting skills, providing a unique and memorable experience for A.R.D. Consultancy's clients. The success of the event led to an additional £2000 in funding from A.R.D. Consultancy to support the program further.
Andrew Dawkins reflected on the event:
"Our partnership with Larbert High School has reached new heights after our very successful amalgamated client hospitality event. It was an absolute honour to be able to offer our clients such a unique outing, while at the same time, giving the students of Larbert High vital skills development experience. We look forward to continuing and growing our partnership with both the School of Hospitality and School of Dance programs."
Martyn Shields, Depute Rector at Larbert High School, was proud of the students' achievements:
"The event showcased Larbert’s finest talent that has been supported by A.R.D. over the past few years. It allowed our pupils to create, perform and deliver an event to the highest standard and it is something that at Larbert we are immensely proud of. It was fantastic for our pupils to meet a range of people, developing their communication and leadership skills. The night was fitting and symbolic of the partnership that has been developed by A.R.D. and Larbert High. Their support and generosity allow all our pupils to access the curriculum particularly within our Hospitality Faculty. We hope that this event can be the first of many and again we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to A.R.D. and their clients for the generosity and kind words. I would also personally like to thank the team at Larbert for putting on such a great spectacle.”
In addition to supporting the School of Hospitality, A.R.D. Consultancy has also been a proud sponsor of the School of Dance at Larbert High. This sponsorship has provided dancers with new opportunities, such as performing with the Scottish Rockettes dance team at the Emirates Arena and receiving their very own dance jackets and other essential equipment.
Brian Townsend highlighted the impact of A.R.D. Consultancy's support:
"We are delighted to have been working in partnership with A.R.D. Consultancy over the last few years where they have supported our Hospitality and Dance Academy programmes. Their support has provided aprons for over 250 pupils and given our dancers the chance to perform with the Rockettes at the Emirates Arena as well as supplying them with varsity style jackets which they can wear for routines and to travel to events and performances."
The continued partnership between A.R.D. Consultancy and Larbert High School promises to bring even more opportunities and benefits to the students and the local community. With exciting plans on the horizon, A.R.D. Consultancy remains committed to supporting the development and success of the young talents at Larbert High School.
